Do your homework

At the core of every organization is its company. Most organizations seek to hire people with similar values and belief systems. Research the employer and the industry, so you are ready for the interview question, "What do you know about this company?". If this question is not asked, you should try to demonstrate what you know about the company on your own.

You can do this by tying what you’ve learned about the company into your responses. Going out of the way to research more about the company culture and it’s values cannot be understated. Dress the part

Keep it COOL !

First impressions are everything. Impression goes down to your appearance and mannerisms. BE ON TIME ! punctuality goes a long way in showing your character as an individual. During the job interview you are relaxed and stay as calm as possible. Your body language says as much about you as your answers to the questions. Proper preparation will allow you to exude confidence. As you answer questions, maintain eye contact with the interviewer. Be sure to pay attention to the question so that you don’t forget it, and listen to the entire question (using active listening) before you answer, so you know exactly what the interviewer is asking. Avoid cutting off the interviewer at all costs, especially when he or she is asking questions. If you need to take a moment to think about your answer, that’s fine, and is a better option than stuttering with multiple “ums” or “uhs.”

Describe your work history BRIEFLY

Most interviewers will ask you to give a quick background of yourself at the start of the interview. Review your resume beforehand and prepare a good, brief narrative of your career and you can impress them right off the bat! DO NOT go into anything personal at first. REMEMBER you are coming for a job interview and not to share your personal life story. It has to be concise. Nobody wants to hire somebody that rambles on or sounds scattered, that’s the biggest mistake people make with this relatively open-ended question.

Spend most of your time on the recent portion of your career. Go through the beginning rather quickly. 2-3 minutes total should be your target.

What is your desired salary?

This negatively framed question can get you in trouble. The interview isn’t the time to discuss salary and benefits. managers use this approach to gauge whether you’re judgmental, emotional, and not self-aware. Try to spin the answer in a positive way. If you’re asked about your salary expectations, the best response is to say that you would consider a market competitive, reasonable offer.
